A TEASA Webinar: Making a difference through local election.

Good leadership at both political and administrative levels is needed to restore municipalities to functionality. Strengthening the effective and equitable delivery of services is one of the most direct ways of achieving economic and social development for all communities. Thus, the election of capable, confident and ethical political leaders as ward and proportional councillors is key to economic growth and reduction of poverty in our communities.

Join our speakers Mr Rekgotsofetse Chikane and Dr Sammy Thekiso on Thursday, 14 October 2021between 16h00 and 17h30 as they explore how churches and Christians can contribute to task of electing better political leaders in the upcoming local government elections.

Chikane is an author, academic and public commentator. He is lecturing public policy at Wits School of Governance. Thekiso, a seasoned activist is based in Potchestroom and has previously served as a councilor and member of the mayoral council (MMC): Infrastructure in his home-town. He is now in full-time practice as a clinical psychologist and also works as an independent consulted work different political parties.
