Christian response to the Occupation of Palestine: throughout the month of May 2022

Background: In 2019 4 Palestinian Evangelical leaders were guests of the Evangelical Alliance of South Africa, and addressed the TEASA BGM. They shared their testimonies as evangelicals as well as their experiences of oppression at the hands of the State of Israel. They invited TEASA leaders to visit Israel and Palestine to see for themselves the suffering caused by Israeli Apartheid policies. They expressed dismay at the uncritical support given to Israel by Christians in the West. As a consequence, TEASA adopted a Resolution that rejects as heresy the biblical justification of Israeli policies that unfairly discriminate against Palestinians on the basis of race.
The purpose: TEASA invites member churches to raise awareness about the ethical crisis raised by the Israeli Occupation of Palestine, and to pray and work for a just peace for both Israel and Palestine.
Action: Local churches to listen to the voices of Evangelical leaders from Palestine, consider their plight and pray for a just peace during the month of May 2022.
